Russell Rice is a UK registered Architect, having completed his Masters in Architecture at the University of Portsmouth in 2012.
Whilst working at Stephen Whettem Architects in the southwest of England, Russell specialised in a mix of high-end residential and sustainable community and art centres. Based in a Conservation Area and World Heritage Site a large proportion of Russell’s work related to historic buildings, with a focus on sensitive restoration and contemporary additions.
Following his move to Australia in 2015, Russell took a leading role on large-scale multi-residential and residential age care projects at Team2 Architects in Sydney, primarily in the construction documentation, project management and site works stages. Since joining Archisoul in May 2016, Russell’s experience has been utilised on alterations and additions projects to heritage listed buildings, as well as sustainable new-build projects.
Russell is fuelled by a belief that good architecture should be derived from context, his ambition is to create buildings that are reflective of lifestyle and interspersed with pockets of inspiration drawn from surroundings. His love of travelling the world has strengthened this idea through experience of diverse cultures, climates and vernacular building materials and techniques.
