Carole Huard is a graduate in Architecture (Title Architecte D.P.L.G), from l’Ecole d’Architecture de Paris Malaquais, Paris France. Upon graduation Carole worked immediately for the very well regarded firm, CLS Architetti in Milan, Italy where she was thrust straight into world of Italian high street Luxury brand shop design for Missoni Sport and I Pinco Pallino.
Carole was rewarded with work directly for Christian Dior designing furniture in Paris under the Aqua di Parma label. She then moved into the world of renovating luxury, state of the art apartments for BureauParis. Seeking a challenge, Carole took a job offer as Chef de Projet for Copat Architecture – a 2 year project within La Cite Internationale in Lyon – an area designed by the famous Italian architect, Renzo Piano – in charge of all internal architecture, interior design and project management for the development of a new and well known 100 room hotel along with ground floor 600 sq meter restaurant (called Cite 33) owned by three very well known French Chefs.
This was a hugely successful and enjoyable architect and design project for Carole, which also enabled her to manage on site the completion of the job. Before moving to Australia, Carole worked independently designing new homes in rural France and a six month stint in Laos, saw Carole work on the winning design for Les Ateliers de la Peninsule, Vientiane – a pavilion luxury French-colonial style hotel in Luang Prabang (which has since been built as a result of winning the design contest).
Carole arrived in Australia in 2008 and soon after started busily working at Archisoul Architects on the design of residential renovations, new homes and more recently a number of commercial jobs including a Possum Centre and a Multi Use (apartment and shops) building. Carole most prefers to work on challenging renovations – translating into architecture, the clients needs and wants. Carole says that in most work, particularly residential, successful design comes from the relationship of trust. She enjoys problem solving and influencing an outcome for the clients benefit. Carole’s priority as an architect is to be sure the client is pleased with the finished product, over and above making an architectural statement.
Carole is passionate about reducing the impact of architecture and building on the environment and to ensure best practice and energy efficient housing. Carole has undertaken a Passive House Course in 2020 and is now a qualified Passive House Designer and Consultant.
