In his native South Africa, Kobus held senior architect roles in several national firms, working primarily on large-scale projects. These encompassed public and private infrastructure works, hospitals, schools and sport facilities.
In 2019, Kobus migrated to Australia to take up a position as Senior Project Lead and Design Lead in the Darwin office of award-winning firm Bennett Architecture. Eventually, he was lured to Sydney, where he developed expertise in modular methods for mass construction projects, designing schools and sport facilities.
Whether the budget is $1 million or $100s of millions, Kobus believes that the scale of a project is not defined by its physical size, but by the creativity and commitment of the designer. By adhering to fundamental structural principles and meticulously attending to detail, Kobus can make even the most complex project manageable and achievable.
