This Hamptons style renovation is the result of a very challenging brief.
Extensive storm damage had left the beautiful oceanfront property in need of a complete rebuild.
Given a free hand to build their dream home, the owners wanted a classic Hamptons home – comfortable, well proportioned, and designed for beachside living.
The hard part was that the site itself was substantially eroded by the storm’s huge waves and violent winds. Effectively, the owners wanted more house on less land.
Working with a very narrow and highly exposed block, the Archisoul team had to solve a number of architectural problems in order to fit four bedrooms, three living spaces and an open family/ dining area into the existing building envelope.
We achieved a spacious home design for this most compact site by utilising a combination of the roof attic spaces, cathedral ceilings and triple voided stairwells to allow the north light to flood the home.
