Being keen gardeners, our clients were looking for Frenchs Forest architects who could design a renovation to match their existing beautifully landscaped garden and vegetable patch. They researched the market to find the perfect fit and eventually settled for a Balgowlah architect – us!
The focus of the renovation was to open up the ground floor of the house to allow easy access to their stunning garden.
Archisoul went to work, designing a renovation that would complement the beautiful outdoor work by Joanne Green Landscapes. We sought to build on her work by incorporating and echoing the landscaping design’s existing material palette to achieve a unified aesthetic throughout the property.
The clients also wanted plans for a first floor addition drawn up. Their intention was to update the house for a quick sale without overcapitalising. Our design achieved this outcome by aiming for mass market appeal to maximise the home’s potential re-sale value.
With a very short time frame, we had to ensure that the project would meet the criteria for a CDC (Complying Development Certificate), as the clients wanted to move faster than a lengthy DA (Development Application) process would have allowed.
All went to plan and following a smooth CDC approval, the project was completed in record time. Our happy clients sold the property a few months later, at the price and time they hoped for.
This was a speedy but ultimately very satisfying project as evidenced by our clients’ lovely compliments on our work.
