B&M House – Curl Curl

This family home was designed to utilize the coastal location while also maintaining a home that could grow with the family. The skillion roof enables the internal floor plate to be flooded with natural light from the north while also being advantageous to the views accessed from the south façade.

A series of louvre windows allow cross ventilation resulting in a cooler home during the warmer months, saving energy on air conditioning and creating a more sustainable home.

The parent’s retreat and children’s bedrooms were designed to be separated to allow a peaceful sanctuary for the parents while also allowing the children to have their own space to play. Public zones of the building occur on the first floor in an open plan arrangement. Positioning kitchen, dining and living programme to allow interconnection between spaces.

The internal and outdoor areas flow seamlessly creating a gentle circulation throughout.
