M&S House – Collaroy

The concept driver behind this design was to create an echo of the iconic Sydney sandstone cliff faces. The central line of circulation leads to the nature surrounding the property desired to be one of the focal points of the architecture.

Filled with natural light and open plan living the atmosphere feels inviting and fresh offering a relaxing and refreshing element for the visual palette.

The axis, circulation and visual connectivity are focused upon the existing palm tree, which can be seen as you enter the house, and navigates the occupant through the space.

The parent’s bedroom is located upstairs as to be advantageous of the coastal view and away from the children’s bedrooms downstairs. The client requested a luxurious ensuite to resemble the one they experienced on their honeymoon with views from the bathtub.
