G&S House – Beacon Hill

The client asked for a modern look family home, with more natural light and a connection to the outdoor living area and existing pool. The aesthetic brief called for a modern, fresh beach look without ostentation or architectural dogma.

The house has an east/west orientation so it was important to extend a thoroughfare of light between east and west thereby easily delineating the spaces.

We created a double garage and media room on the ground floor, plus a new bedroom for a teenager. Glass panels and open stair risers were used to filter light throughout and create a connection between outdoors and indoors. Louvres bring cross ventilation and create a relaxed atmosphere. A new deck was built in the garden area providing a great space for a casual entertaining under an existing canopy tree.
