F&B House – Clontarf

Our latest project to begin construction is the F&B house in Clontarf. The old weatherboard house sits in a prime location overlooking North Harbour with Balmoral Beach and the city scape beyond.

Our clients came to Archisoul looking for an expansive modern home, with top floor living areas to make the most of these incredible views. The process of creating their dream home will involve partial demolition of the existing house and a large two storey extension.

The design features a bluestone blade wall meeting a cantilevered roof designed with timber soffit, which signifies the entry to the home into a double height glass foyer with floating staircase.

The new top level will be open plan with views of the large gum trees to the front and across the harbour to the rear. Natural light will flood into the space through a pop-up roof section above the dining table. The open-plan areas are loosely defined by a contemporary gas fireplace in the centre of the space.

Bedrooms and a second living room on ground level are provided with private terraces to step out onto, with views over the private pool and across the harbour. Vertical aluminium louvres provide solar shading and privacy to these spaces.

Construction has recently commenced and is due for completion towards the middle of next year.
