Ten years ago, our clients in Freshwater approached Archisoul to design their new home. The existing house was a single-level, red brick home, with a renovated living area. The design brief included a new garage, a new basement and a new storey as a ‘parent retreat’.
The design process and approval were completed remotely through email and Skype calls as our clients were living in Canada. A year later they came back to Sydney to start the renovation, but as funds were short, they decided to stage it over the next few years!
In Stage 1 a garage was built with a terrace and pergola above.
In Stage 2 the basement, laundry, rumpus room, storage room and internal access to the upper level was renovated. As our clients had two young children, the rumpus room was seen as essential with the kids, now teenagers, relishing in their own downstairs area!
In Stage 3 the new storey was built.
The final outcome dramatically changing the aesthetic of the original house!
Renovation completed with amazing before and after results!
Since the renovation, the clients are in love with their new home, especially the upstairs parents retreat. Comprising the master bedroom, a home office, living area, and a small kitchenette, it has its own terrace with views to the ocean. What could be more perfect?
