Seventeen Seventy – Elliot

The town of 1770 is 7km’s from Agnes Water and is the most Northern surf beach and is one of the closest to the outer Great Barrier Reef.

It is a seriously stunning place to visit with breathtaking views and an interesting history. Captain Cook landed here in 1770 so they named it after the year he landed ashore. The triplex townhouse was designed for a client who is passionate about the area and wanted to have one townhouse per each family member to use.

These are uniquely designed due to the steeper site constraints. The upper floor area has a suspended plunge pool for late westerly views watching the sunset and a living/dining and kitchen area. The middle floor is bedrooms and bathrooms and the lower floor a garage and storage area with water tanks. One of the more unique features are the overhang eaves that fan up at a higher incremental angle for each roof and they allow the breezeway and solar light access (in Winter months), to penetrate inside with interactive play of light and shadow. Each fanned roof junction also creates privacy from each other and allows for an uninterrupted view corridor.
