This eco village design concept was to facilitate permaculture style food production on the land, which is completely organic and zero waste. The development would be completely carbon neutral and off-grid by generating its own energy.
The local community would be invited to take part in activities such as permaculture gardening courses and cooking classes. People are encouraged to eat together and get involved in communal activities.
There are cabins on site for paying guests and also permanent accommodation for the owners and for refugees. The refugee accommodation and meals would be free in return for assistance with tending to the land. This concept of a cash free micro-economy would be applied to the wider community, where people could trade goods, time and skills with others in an informal and community minded way.
